Medically Complicated

Children and adolescents who meet admission criteria and who would benefit from any of our residential or day treatment programs, but who also present with unique or complicated medical needs can be served at Harmony Hill School as determined on an individual basis.

Our campus is peanut/tree-nut aware, with our kitchen preparing and serving only nut-free meals and products.  Nurses are on-campus daily upwards of twelve hours including weekends and holidays and provide phone coverage 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to campus staff.   Individual medical plans are created for each child or adolescent with medical complications, and are communicated on a need-to-know basis to appropriate members of the treatment team.  Our Medical Director is a licensed physician with specialty board certification in Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and provides on-site consultation three days per week, as well as emergency coverage 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.  Medical Department staff members consult regularly not only with our own Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Registered Dietitian, but also with sub-specialty medical providers off-site based on the needs of our individual patients.  Psychiatric and medical emergency policies and procedures are in place throughout all disciplines.
